David AndrewHARGREAVES‘Dave’, of Collingwood, Clayton-le-Moors, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at his home on April 15, aged 59 years.
The devoted and much loved husband of Gillian, loved dad of Danielle and Leighton, dear father-in-law of Michael and Amy and ‘the best grandad in the world’ to Gracie Mae, Mitchel, Leo and Charlie, adored son of Brenda and the late Ray and his wife Barbara, dear brother of Steven, Karen, Nigel and Keith and a respected uncle to far too many to mention and a relative and good friend to all who knew him.
‘Dave The Rave’ was the life and soul of the party, he loved to share a Carling or ten at his Garage Bar and garden, where the party would go on into the early hours. Dave had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. He loved people and was so proud of all of his family. Sports mad, Dave was an avid supporter of Burnley FC. He also enjoyed darts, snooker and was a former member of the pool team at the Forts Arms, where he and Gillian shared many good times, with lots of fun and laughter. Latterly, Dave enjoyed a pint at The Grey Horse, Accrington. Dave was a true grafter and with his love of talking, and his gift of the gab, he was a natural in the furniture sales world in which he worked. Becoming a grandad was truly the icing on the cake for Dave and he adored each of his grandchildren. They brought out the inner child in him. Gracie Mae, the apple of his eye was the girl that stole his heart. Dave loved to listen to Mitchel DJ and watch Leo sing and dance to Michael Jackson. Dave was also a regular on the side line at Charlie’s football matches, being his Number One Fan.
Dave’s funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 7 at 1.15pm at All Saints Church, Clayton-le-Moors followed by cremation at Accrington Crematorium.
