CliffordHARGREAVESIt is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Clifford Hargreaves of Haslingden, who died aged 94 on June 20 at Royal Blackburn Hospital after a short illness. Clifford was a retired optician, having run a successful business in Haslingden for many years alongside his wife, Margaret. His dedication to his profession and community will be fondly remembered. Clifford was a keen gardener throughout his life, and in his later years, he developed an interest in bird-watching, travelling across the UK and Europe to observe and enjoy wildlife. He was the devoted husband of the late Margaret, father to Judith and David, father-in-law to John and Julie, and beloved grandfather to Matthew, James, and Sam. He was also brother to the late Jean. A private service will be held for family and close friends at 11am on Thursday, July 11 at the Chapel of Rest, Knight and Boys, Stacksteads. Family flowers only, please. Donations in memory of Clifford can be made to RNIB, c/o Knight and Boys. Funeral Director: Paul Swarbrick for Knight & Boys.
