John IrwinHARRISJohn Irwin Harris aged 95 years passed away on May 11th at Torrwood Care Home. He was the husband of Elisabeth, and they shared 68 years of marriage together. Born in Cardiff in 1928 he went on to study pharmacy and became Director of Studies at Bath University. He was awarded the MBE in 1992. He enjoyed many hobbies including cricket, photography and gardening. He will be remembered for his passion for education. He is survived by Elisabeth his wife, daughter Susan, grandchildren Sophie and Thomas and great grandchild Isreal. He was predeceased by son Jonathan. The funeral service will be held at St Thomas's Church in Wells, on 25th May at 2.30pm, followed by interment at East Horrington Burial Ground. Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, if desired may be made to The Children's Society and sent to Hill & Son Funeral Directors, 18-20 St. Thomas Street, Wells, BA5 2UX.
