DerekHARRISONPassed away in Fairfield Hospital on the 5th October 2018 after a short illness. Derek aged 79 years. He is survived by his wife Marjorie, their children Ian and Susan and his sister Doreen. Derek worked for many years as colourist and works manager at the now-defunct Spring Mill in Whitworth, and retired from a similar position in Rochdale. He was active locally in the Guild of Textile Supervisors. Derek spent the last several years caring for his wife Marjorie as her Alzheimer's progressed. Before this, he and Marjorie had enjoyed many fun visits to their grandchildren overseas. In his free time he liked to fish, and was often found in his garden growing vegetables for himself and for friends and neighbours. Service of Celebration to take place at Rochdale Crematorium on Thursday 25th October at 11.50am, followed by a reception at Basil's Restaurant in Whitworth.
