Roger Edward JohnHARRISONIt is with great sadness the family of Mr Roger Edward John Harrison announce his passing on 11th February 2023, at the age of 87 years. Roger passed away peacefully at Bryn Ivor Lodge Care Home after a 6 month battle with an aggressive cancer which he fought with his usual courage & grace. Roger leaves loving wife Angela, son Mike, daughter in law Lucy & grandchildren Rhoslyn, Joshua, Georgi, Isobel & Teilo. He will be lovingly remembered by all his family, friends & colleagues. Roger did so many great things, achieved so much and worked so tirelessly for the Arthritis & Parkinsons charities. He was our hero a thousand times over, and we know he would be disappointed if we did not use this opportunity to thank all the amazing and wonderful devoted staff at Llandough Hospital, University Hospital of Wales & Bryn Ivor lodge Care Home who looked after him so selflessly. Conditions in both hospitals were often far from ideal - not enough space, so noisy, zero privacy & exhausted staff (uncomplaining, but clearly stretched to the max) - but everyone was just marvellous and dear Roger, bless him, spent his entire time thanking them & telling everyone he could, how amazing they were. As a family we too want to say how much we appreciate these wonderful people who so deserve to be paid a fair and decent wage - & have proper funding for the Health service they clearly love so much. Family & close friends welcome to attend the cremation at Thornhill Briwnant Chapel on Monday 6th March 10.30am Followed by a church service & celebration of his life at Glenwood Church at 12pm.
