Douglas JohnHARROPof Cosby, forever an ardent cricket fan, former local umpire and player for Leicester Nomads, Leicestershire County, Cosby, Hinckley Town and latterly the 'Silver Foxes', passed away with family by his side at LOROS, following a short illness, on the 26th November 2024, aged 77 years.

Much-loved and greatly missed by daughter Emma, her partner Glyn and his little cricketer Finlay; a proud 'Opi', too, to Luca and Morgan and beloved Brother, Brother-in-law, Uncle, Great-Uncle, Cousin, God-Father and Friend; we treasure the memories. Funeral service to take place at St Michael and All Angels Parish Church, Cosby on Tuesday 7th January at 1pm followed by a private committal. John's family request all guests wear a touch of green as a nod to his cricketing past. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory of John may be given online at www.gseller.co.uk/obituaries 'Independent Funeral Directors', 75 Upper Bond Street, Hinckley, LE10 1RH. Tel: 01455 637457

Deeply saddened on the the passing of my beloved Uncle John. His generosity, warmth, wisdom, dedication to family, sharp wit and laughter touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He will be dearly missed but forever cherished in our hearts.

Rest in peace John, onto the next innings. James, Carol-Ann, Helena & Patrick xx
