KennethHARVEYMr Kenneth Harvey, of Hill View Care Home, Rawtenstall, formerly of Stacksteads, has died aged 94. Born at Wood Top, Bury Road, Rawtenstall, in 1927, he attended Townsend Fold and Lea Bank Schools. For many years he worked for Bernal Howorth Haulage, Stacksteads, and Greenwood and Coope, Ramsbottom, initially as a driver, and subsequently as transport manager, a post he held until his retirement. Mr Harvey was a keen ballroom dancer, and, in his youth, like many others of his generation, enjoyed many evenings at the old Astoria in Rawtenstall. He is survived by his first wife Alice, his daughter and son Sandra and Neil, their partners Michael and Jacqueline, granddaughter Gemma, nephews, and Margaret and Derek. His second wife Brenda died eight years ago. The funeral will be held at 11am on Monday, July 18, at the funeral home, followed by interment at Bacup Cemetery.
