HilaryHARVEYIt is with great sadness that the family of Hilary Harvey (nee Hedley) announces her death at the age of 95.
Hilary passed away peacefully, at home, on 21st July 2026. She was the much loved wife of the late Roger, dearest mother of Anna and Claire, beloved grandmother to Rosie, Lucy and Ailis, and was held in great affection by her sons-in-law, Eddie and Seamus.
She was also an esteemed sister-in-law, aunt and stalwart friend to many as well as a teacher for many years at Rutherford Grammar School and Westmoor Middle School.
Hilary was the consummate hostess and took great delight in entertaining family and friends.
There will be a Memorial Service for Hilary at St George's Church, Jesmond on Tuesday 18th August at 1pm, followed, as she would have wished, by afternoon tea at her house. All who knew her are cordially invited. Hilary wished her final good-bye to be a celebration as well as a time for reflection and in that spirit may we ask those attending to wear colours rather than black.
Family flowers only please, but donations in lieu will be divided between the RNLI and St George's Community Hub. Donations may be made at the service or via the funeral director
