ShirleyHEATHIt is with great sadness that we announce the death of June Shirley Oliver Heath on 13th October 2024 at the age of 86, peacefully at Scunthorpe General Hospital.
Shirley was born in 1938 and lived all her life in Westwoodside. She will be known by many as an RE and maths teacher at South Axholme School, where she taught for many years. She was also extremely active in church life, both at St Nicholas Church, Haxey and around the local area in her role as a Lay Reader. Shirley was very involved in the local community over the years; being a governor of three schools and a member of Doncaster and Bawtry Bridge Clubs. She leaves behind her son Charles, daughter Elizabeth, son-in-law Alex and devoted grandchildren Laura and Heather. She will be reunited with her late husband John.
The funeral will be held at St Nicholas Church, Haxey on Friday 1st November at 1.30pm. Arrangements by R Wallace and Sons. Family flowers only. Donations to St Nicholas Church, Haxey.

Fond memories of Mrs Heath. A wonderful teacher and form teacher during the 80's. Mrs Heath was always so kind and supportive. A very well respected and lovely lady. Rest in peace.

As a pupil of Mrs Heath’s I had nothing but respect for her. She was a brilliant teacher and it is very sad news to hear of her passing. She has left her mark in the hearts of many young pupils whose lives she helped to shape. RIP Mrs Heath.
