Beloved husband of Glenda, dearly loved father of Nicholas and the late beloved Simon, much loved father-in-law of Janet and Joanne, dear brother to Alun, devoted grandfather to Claudia, Jessica, Annabel, Scarlett, Simon and Zara and dear uncle to Elizabeth and Alison. I only found out recently. Doug was a great man. He was kind and a true gentleman. My late uncle and aunt, Don and Val Davison, loved meeting up with him and Glenda at the Mackworth Arms in Laleston on a Saturday night. My uncle Don always sang his praises. He used to say (with great admiration) what a 'boffin' he was - filled with great intellect and wisdom. My wife, Charlotte, and I wish all of Doug's family our very best regards. Nick Johns.
