BernardHELMPassed away peacefully at home on the 17th February.

Beloved husband of Nicky and dearly loved Father of Ben, Tom and Joe.

The funeral service will be held at Northumberland Woodland Crematorium Bockenfield Wood, Felton, Morpeth, Northumberland, NE65 9QJ on Wednesday 12th March at 1.45pm.

Family flowers only please, donations if desired to the Woodland Trust.

Remembered with fondness from way back in the 1970's - lovely guy. The caring and thoughtful one in our " Hexham " gang of students as most of us were then ! Sadly we all drifted apart as life takes us all in new directions.
However, I bumped into Bernard in Grey Street, Newcastle one Saturday morning a few years ago - literally parked up next to myself and my partner. Bernard had his Mum in the car and explained he had hoped to take her to the restaurant in front of us for a Saturday treat - but it had closed down.
We only spoke for a few mins - but he talked about his wife Nicky and the boys. My son lives in Morpeth so he told me to call into the Chantry as Nicky had some of her work on display there. I will be always thankful that we had that chance meeting !
Deepest Condolences to all the family and his many friends. So sorry but personal circumstances prevented me from attending the funeral today. RIP

Bernard and I were friends during the 1970's and 1980's. I remember him as a kind, thoughtfull person who enjoyed his music and was tremendous company. I extend my deepest sympathy to his family at this sad time.
