JohnHETHERINGTONPeacefully at home on 19th December 2022 aged 72 years Beloved brother of Janet and Father to adopted sons Simon & Nick. Sadly missed friend of Adele and Wai Creative disruptor & educational innovator, cyclist aficionado AKA Ol' Binky, John had many passions. Connoisseur of fine wines, culinary delights, lover of fine threads, literature and music; above all, his belief that education will change lives for the better. He was greatly respected by the many he taught and worked with over the years as a school teacher. A generous and intelligent friend. All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace. Graveside service to be held at Thorngumbald Cemetery on Tuesday 31st January at 2pm. Donations to Cancer Research UK can be left at the service. All welcome afterwards to The Camerton Pub, Thorngumbald. Resting at Eric Walker Funeral Service, Magdalen Lane, Hedon. Tel 354036 www.mgarton.co.uk (by appointment only please)

just heard from a colleague who was also taught by you, such sad news, such a great, individual and witty teacher, who even at my young age acknowledged he didn't necessarily always stand alongside his colleagues and peers with the standard educational grain of teaching.
