So sorry to hear about the passing of Joy
So many memories of time spent at Church house with Ashley and his family.
Joy was like a second mum to me, always very welcoming and put up with such patience to the grief that the teenage Ashley and my self gave her. Coming in at all hours, playing tennis indoors, chucking food tins about, stealing her cigarettes to name but a few !
She always took it with great humour and often rewarded us after a night out on the tiles with a fantastic fry up that was legendary, and that we probably didn’t deserve!
It was a great era to live through and as young lads we loved hearing her funny stories about the old days , scaring us with spooky tales and making us laugh telling us about the ‘tigers and elephants’ that used to live on exmoor years ago ! A great funny and kind lady who will sadly be missed .
Rest in peace Joy
