JaneHIGHAMMrs Jane Higham, aged 64, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 16 at East Lancashire Hospice. Jane is survived by her loving family, her two daughters and sons-in-law Louise and Matthew, Victoria and Shaun, five grandchildren Lucas, Max, Harry, Grace and Louis, sisters Alexandra, Margaret and Maryhelen, as well as her nieces and nephews. Jane always worked hard and was a huge part of her local community; during her working life she spent time with Barnes’ bakery, Martin’s bakery, Joseph Arnolds, Walsh and Midgley, Asda, and Slimming World. Jane’s most important work was caring for her grandchildren, mother, and mother-in-law and aunt, which she retired to dedicate her time towards. She still found time to volunteer at local playgroups and undertake cleaning and caring roles for friends and neighbours. Jane was an active lady, who was full of the joy of life. Her favourite pastime was walking her dog and best friend Buster, but she also enjoyed cycling, swimming and all different fitness classes. Jane and her daughter Victoria shared a love of creating novelty cakes for friends and family. Jane was creative and resourceful in many ways. Jane’s passion was her family and her friends; she loved to socialise and holiday with them. Jane will be deeply missed and will never truly know how many lives she positively impacted; a mother and friend to all who knew her. Her funeral service, organised by Oswaldtwistle Funeral Services, is to be held at Rhyddings Methodist Church, Oswaldtwistle, on Wednesday, June 1 at 10.15am, followed by a committal service at Accrington Crematorium, Burnley Road. All are welcome to attend both services. A celebration of Jane’s life will be held at Oswaldtwistle Social Club (formerly Oswaldtwistle Conservative Club), Rhyddings Street, Oswaldtwistle, after the committal service. Family flowers only. Jane asked for donations to be made to Ovarian Cancer Action, in the hope of raising awareness and money for other families who may be touched by Ovarian Cancer. Donations can be made via the memorial page at www.janehigham. muchloved.com Funeral director: Oswaldtwistle Funeral Services.
