DoreenHILTONMrs Doreen Hilton, of Heathbourne Road, Stacksteads, passed away at her home with her family by her side, on Friday, April 16, aged 85. Doreen was born in Whitewell Bottom and grew up in the surrounding area. She left school at age 15 to work as a weaver in the cotton industry. She then went on to work in the footwear industry for the remainder of her working life. Doreen enjoyed going on holiday to Benidorm with her beloved husband Tommy. She enjoyed time with her family, who meant the world to her, becoming a great-great-grandma last year. Wife of the late Tommy, and mother of the late Trisha, she leaves daughters Janet, Christine and Angela, son Roy, 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, May 4, at 11.30am at Burnley Crematorium, and the cortege will leave from Knight & Boys Funeral Home, Stacksteads, at 10.45am. Due to Covid restrictions, numbers allowed in the Crematorium are limited. Regrettably, therefore, attendance at the Crematorium will be family invitation only. Family flowers only; donations if desired to Team Zumba Relay for Life Rossendale c/o funeral director Paul Swarbrick for Knight & Boys Funeral Service, Stacksteads, Bacup.
