After leaving school, Valerie worked at Northrop as an assistant accountant, later marrying Jim and working on the farm until retirement. Valerie loved going on holiday with her family to Jersey, as well as reading and socialising with friends. Valerie leaves behind her husband Jim, son James, and daughter-in-law Angie. She was nan to Edward and Owen, great-nana to Marshall and Lydia, sister-in-law to Tom, Joan and Dorothy and an auntie.
