'Cousin Steve' has been in my life as far back as I can remember and together we have been through the good and the more difficult times.
He was quiet, kind, wise and unassuming but always there with an offer of help.
He was much loved by myself and all of the Lawrence family and was a great favourite of my parents - Kath and Stan Nicholson.
His presence will be sadly missed, but he will never be forgotten.

We could see you were suffering but as always “I’m alright Lad”’ was the response. Your concern was always Barbara, not yourself.
My life will be a lot sadder without you in it. We didn’t need to speak often, but knew when we needed to we’d be there.
I know you missed Dad (Alan) immensely so I’m hoping the old so and so is there waiting for you as you were waiting for him but never made that last trip to you. I know to Dad you were the one and you did so much for him when he needed it most, but as always, you put everyone first before yourself even though you’d been through so much.
So Uncle Steve, I hope we do you proud, I’ll get you to Curbar Edge it’s the first place we went for a walk when you moved to Chesterfield. So until we meet again, look after yourself.

Celebrating a life well lived. It was an honour to know and spend time with you, Steve. You always made us all so welcome in your home. Your ability to find things to talk about that drew each of us in was such a joy. Thank you and rest well. All our love, Spencer, Elizabeth, Jess, David and Laura xxxx
