Rita GladysHODGEIt is with much sadness that we announce the death of our dear Mum, Rita, who passed away aged 87 on 22 October 2024. Rita grew up in Penbury Road in Norwood Green. She moved to Floriston Avenue in Hillingdon in 1962 with her late husband Allan, where they lived for more than 60 years. She worked as a Secretary at Napiers in Acton, then later for Pratt's Insurance, Bird & Lovibond Solicitors and Puri Chemist in Hillingdon. Rita knew many people locally through her work and as a mother of two daughters, Frances and Jenny, who attended Ryefield and Vyners Schools. She also loved shopping in Uxbridge and enjoyed a coffee and making friends at the M&S café. Rita was a devoted dog mum to her Shih Tzu, Olly. Allan was well known for walking Olly around Lynhurst Crescent, at Elephant Park and Pole Hill Park.

The family would like to thank local neighbours for their friendship and kindness to both Rita and Allan over the years.

Rita's funeral will be held at Breakspear Crematorium on Thursday 7 November 2024 at 10.30am.

Family flowers only. Charity donations can be made at l2d.live/od8k or send a cheque to A.V. Smith & Sons, 369 Royal Lane, Uxbridge UB8 3QP (payable to 'RSPCA Hillingdon', marked Rita Hodge on the back).
