JohnHOLDENJohn Holden, aged 84, passed away after a short illness on Monday, October 21 at his care home in Harrogate. John was the beloved husband to the late Margaret Holden (Stansfield), father to Stuart, Phillip and Suzanne. Grandfather to Robert, Emily, Joshua, Toby and Natasha. John was born in Bacup and spent most of his life living in Stacksteads and then Rawtenstall before moving to Knaresborough to be close to family. John started his working life at S. S. Stott’s Ltd then Baltic mill in Waterfoot and finished off at Perplas, Bacup. He was a keen rambler, member of the ramblers association and Pennine Paths. He was also a gardener, member of the local alpine flowers society and a lifelong Burnley Football supporter. John spent a number of years in the eighties volunteering as a Special Constable with Lancashire Constabulary. He will be sadly missed.
