Evan CharlesHOLMANThe Final Chequered Flag falls John and Marie would like to thank everyone who attended Evan's funeral and for all the cards, messages of sympathy and the generous donations to The Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust. Evan would have been overjoyed by the wonderful tributes given by his two sisters and Marie. He was fiercely proud of all of his family and it was wonderful to see so many of them there along with his friends, former colleagues and villagers. Grateful thanks go to The Revd Canon David Seymour for officiating, the organist Graham Blackburn, and readers; Grandson James Holman and Kevin Pickup. Among those to specially thank are representatives and former colleagues from Camel Vale Motor Club, BT, Launceston & North Cornwall Motor Club and all those who came remembering Evan as a telephone engineer, DJ, Farmer, and car salesman. Much appreciation goes to Bodmin Funeral Services for their care and attention throughout, and to the Bell Ringers and Churchwardens at Blisland Church for ensuring every aspect of the funeral service was 'proper'. Thanks also go to Tinkers Catering and Sandra Matthews from the Blisland Village Hall Committee for all their help. Evan was a motoring enthusiast throughout his adult life; from trialling, rallying and autotests in the 60s and 70s at Camel Vale Motor Club events, to running his own garage for 27 years after retiring from BT. Our Dad has now passed his final chequered flag and can rest, content in the knowledge he was the winner of a long and successful life, full of work and play and the admiration and love of us all.
