ClarenceHOLMESMr Clarence Holmes, of Thwaites Road, Oswaldtwistle, died on Saturday, July 18 at theRoyal Blackburn Hospital, aged 82. Clarence was in the army, then he worked for English Electric and then ROF. Following this he became a pub landlord at various pubs, including The White Bull, Thwaites Arms and Hare and Hounds in Oswaldtwistle, then The Oddfellows and The Royal Oak in Clayton-le-Moors. He played darts, dominoes and pool in various pubs and clubs. He leaves loving wife Maureen, son Andrew, daughter-in-law Gillian, stepsons Kenneth, Barry, Kirk and Paul, 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He will be missed by many. The funeral was to be held on Monday, July 27, at 2.20pm at Accrington Crematorium, led by Sarah Flanagan. Donations if desired to Dementia UK.
