RobertHOLMESSadly at St. Joseph's Hospice aged 86 years. Beloved husband of Sylvia, a loving dad of Peter, Andrew and Katharine. An adored grandad of Hannah, James, Maja and Emma. Funeral Service to be held at St. Michael's Church, Blundellsands on Friday 9th December at 11.00 am followed by Cremation at Thornton Crematorium at 12 noon. Family flowers only please but donations can be made to The Children's Society, c/o Barringtons Funerals, 28 Crosby Road North, Waterloo, L22 4QF. All enquiries Tel: 0151 928 1625

Bob was my PhD supervisor and mentor. He was a real gentleman and brought a level headed approach to our team at the university. He was a lovely man and I will miss him. Thanks Bob

Bob was my PhD supervisor in the early 90s. Not only was he a brilliant academic leader, but he also taught me the value of standing up for what is right. I have very fond memories of him. My thoughts are with his family. John Walker
