IreneHOMONKOPassed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday 4th July 2023, aged 88 years. After overcoming many challenges and obstacles in her long life, her last days were spent in the very good care of the staff on Ward 2 at the Florence Nightingale Community Hospital, London Road, Derby, not more than a mile from where she was born on Devonshire Street. Irene was a beloved mother to Peter, Teresa and Wendy, grandmother to Nicholas, Jennifer, Sheree, Bianca and Dominique, great-grandmother to Linicia and a mother-in-law to Jacquie. She will be in our hearts and minds forever. The family will be celebrating her life at Markeaton Crematorium, Derby on Friday 21st July 2023 at 1.00pm. For those that desire to honor Irene's life, the family suggest donations to the Queen Elizabeth Foundation in lieu of flowers.
