Where do I start, when my Uncle has always been in my life?
As a child he always made the effort to visit both me and my brother Alan.
My Aunt his lovely wife Marlene, we saw often and stayed a few times at their caravan.
When his daughter Jane was born he always had her with him and would bring her to visit.
All the years I lived in Canada, he never ever forgot a birthday card and always kept in touch. When I moved back to the UK for good 1996, I saw a lot of him and the past 25 years he have come to my house to family gatherings.
His wife sadly passed away many years ago but at the gatherings he talked of her often and it kept her memory alive with all the family that knew her.
My Dad,and other family members has now passed too and it is a great loss to now know he will no longer coming on a Thursday but it gives us Joy to know he is back with his beloved Marlene and all the other family members that we have lost.
Uncle Charl had a special bond with my husband Robert, and they always talked about the military as they did when my Dad was alive.
Robert would call Uncle Charl Lance Corporal and he would call Robert Sergeant.
When Robert last spoke to Uncle Charl he said it’s time to stand down soldier. What a bond they had. ❤️
You were funny, caring, loving and everyone loved you.
It won’t be the same Uncle Charl without you but you will forever be in our hearts and memories. God bless Lynda and Robert xxx
