Mr. Brian Elwin M.A. F.R.H.S.HOWELLSThe death occurred suddenly but peacefully at West Wales General Hospital on Monday 10th February of Mr. Brian Howells of Stackpole. He was 90 and a well known Historian and Author. A former teacher at Pembroke Grammar School, he then moved to lecture at Lampeter College followed by a senior lecturer's appointment at Aberystwyth University. He was the devoted and dearly loved husband of Anita and a much loved father, grandfather and great-grandfather. The funeral will take place on Thursday 27th February with a service at St. James & St. Elidyr Church, Stackpole at 2.30pm followed by interment in the Churchyard. Family flowers only please but if desired, donations in lieu in memory of Brian for Stackpole Church may be sent to John Roberts & Son, Funeral Directors, 51, Bush Street, Pembroke Dock, SA72 6AN, Tel. 01646 683115, who are carrying out the arrangements.
