Dennis was (and remains) a real influence on my life, and continued to be interested in what I was up to throughout my career. I'll miss his nuggets of wisdom, which I have repeatedly heard myself pass on to my teams!
I am so pleased our paths crossed when Dennis and Barbara moved to the South West and Dennis became my first "boss". Dennis made me believe in myself, I doubt my career would have been as colourful without his influence. His experience was second to none, the stories of his travels inspirational and entertaining (so much so that they inspired me to attempt to emulate these - I had no chance of coming even close!), a definite one-off, a great engineer, mentor and friend.
Thanks for the memories, I shall never forget you.
