Cheerful and charming, kind and compassionate. always with a twinkle in his eye -- that was Roy Hudman, our dear friend for over thirty-one years. Roy was the perfect gentleman, always ready to lend a helping hand to one and all. His manner of living life in the present moment and quiet acceptance of life's adversities were truly a great inspiration and brought the closeness of our lasting friendship to a deep level. Roy was a proud father and grand dad and a loving and attentive brother. Long evening discussions on a variety of subjects ranging from sports to modern styles, interspersed with intimate recollections of personal life events are memories of our friendship that we shall cherish forever. . To us, he was indeed the consummate Cotswold gentleman that William Morris wrote about: always impeccably attired, a broad smile on his face, and full of the wry wit and humour that we came to so dearly love. Dear friend, we miss you; however, as the ancient Song of the Lord (the Bhagwad Gita) has so succinctly said, “Weapons cut it not, Water wets it not, Wind dries it not, Fire burns it not, the soul of Roy Hudman lives forever in our hearts."
