JohnHUGGETTJohn Keith Huggett passed away on January 11, 2024, at the age of 93 in Phoenix, Arizona. Born on November 27, 1930, in Birmingham, England, John was a friendly, considerate, disciplined, and strong individual.
John is survived by his son Mark and stepdaughter Jenny, his former wife and best friend Barbara, three grandchildren (Tristin, Terra, and Boaz), step-granddaughter Bella, and four great-grandchildren (Ruby, Andi, Kyler, and Cora). He was preceded in death by his father Frank, mother Doris, sister Mavis, and brother Ralph.
John had a distinguished military career in the Royal Air Force, serving his country with honor as a crew chief on the de Havilland Vampire jet fighter. He even had a stint as a boxer during his time in the service.
In his civilian life, John pursued a successful career as a corporate pilot, certified flight instructor, and airmail pilot on the Beechcraft Model 18. His love for aviation was evident through his various roles as a commercial pilot and his professional contributions to students in the field.
John was a member of both Scottsdale Bible Church and the Catholic Church, where he found solace in his faith. His spiritual journey was an important aspect of his life, and he cherished the singing of hymns during church services.
Outside of his professional, spiritual, and family commitments, John had a passion for staying active. He participated in the Boston Marathon as a runner, enjoyed competitive cycling, and was an avid golfer. His dedication to these hobbies showcased his determination and love for physical activity.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 11, 2024, 2:30 pm, located at 695 W Country Estates Avenue, Gilbert, AZ 85233. Friends, family, and all who knew John are invited to honor his memory and share stories of his remarkable life.
John Keith Huggett, or “Huggy” as he was affectionately known, will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His caring nature, quick wit, and strong character left an indelible mark on those he encountered. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
