Dorothy MerrivaleHUGHESSadly, passed away on 16th September 2022 in Southport Hospital after a short illness. She will be missed by all who knew her. Beloved wife of the late James Dixon Hughes. Much loved Mum to daughters Carol and Lesley, Mum in law to Michael, Grandma to Paul, Vikki, Carolyn and Jon, Great Grandma(GG) to Callum and Oscar. Mum was a well known welfare assistant at Redgate Primary School for many years where she supported generations of Formby school children. She was a leading figure on the Formby Bowls scene and was proud to be honoured as their club president. Latterly, Mum was a resident at Woodlands Lodge, Church Road, Formby. Their care and devotion enhanced the quality of her life in her final years. Time spent visiting Mum at Woodlands Lodge will always have a special place in our hearts. The funeral service will take place at Thornton Crematorium on Thursday 13th October at 11.15am. The family would be pleased if you would join them afterwards at the Gild Hall, Church Road, Formby.
