Christopher JohnHUGHESIt is with great sadness we announce the passing of Christopher John Hughes 'Chris', locally known as Egghead, nationally known as TV personality and quiz contestant appearing on many television quiz shows over the years. Chris passed away at his home in Crewe, aged 77 years. He will be very sadly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral service and cremation will take place at Crewe Crematorium Chapel on Friday 14th March 2025 at 1pm.

Donations in memory of Chris will be gratefully received for Cancer Research UK and The British Heart Foundation.

Chris had that rare talent of recalling facts with relative ease which made him a formidable opponent on the quizzing circuit. He'll be missed on and off our screens and his dry humour will stay long in our memories. RIP my friend 🙏

It's with great sadness to hear the passing of Big Chris.
What a true gentleman used to drink with him at the local watering hole.
Loved to sing on the karaoke and everyone loved to be in his custody, as Chris loved to be in theirs.
Keep your head held high Chris you were a brilliant QUIZ MASTER.😔
