Freda was a force to be reckoned with. She was the voice of reason to many young probationers on the shift.
I remember being in the front office and having a good old moan about the job. She told me to either stop moaning or get another job as there were many others willing to take my place. It was sound advice that I've never forgotten.
I didn't get to see her very often after I moved to France but I will cherish the memories I have from visits that I managed to have.
She was one of a kind and I will never forget her. I'm sure she's with her beloved Derek watching us all and having a really good laugh at how we've all aged and the stories being told about her.
I'm sorry I can't attend her funeral but I will be thinking about her and I'm very grateful for the impact she had on me during my formative years as a bobby.
Freda you were amazing.
