The obituary notice of Roy Frederick HULBERT

In loving memory of Roy Hulbert - Sadly, Roy Hulbert, one of our much-loved supporters and volunteers passed away last week, he will be greatly missed. Whilst his health still allowed, Roy visited the Home every week like clock- work to walk the dogs, especially his beloved Billy. Many of you will know Roy as he manned the ticket desk at our Fun Day’s for well over 20 years, an amazing gift of his time. Just the mention of his name brings a smile to all those of us who knew him, as his kindness and warmth shone through.

Supporters like Roy make Bath Cats and Dogs Home a brighter place and his compassion will live on in the care we can give to unwanted animals. Thank you to Roy, who will be greatly missed and thank you to all of you who share his passion for our work.

Roy was a life-long devotee of jazz. He attended countless concerts in London and many other places. He showed his appreciation in person to numerous prominent American and British jazz stars wherever he attended. He supported local and regional jazz musicians who appeared at venues in Bath such as Ye Old Farmhouse and St. James' Wine Vaults. Additionally he was a volunteer at the Bath Cats and Dogs Home Claverton Down. Roy will be remembered next week (29 November) at St. James' Wine Vaults (St. James' Street), when the scheduled concert (starting at 8.30p.m.) will be dedicated to him.
