Dear Shirley I wanted it not to be true. I kept knocking on the door leaving notes hoping that you we're just unwell or out. I found out today. Both my mum and I are very shocked and upset. You we're such a kind brave soul. Always happy in all weathers. I miss seeing you walk pass the window. And the walking stick clanging on the pavement. It was always a comforting sound to me. You cheered me up when I had unpleasant experiences. Always just so kind to everyone. You we're well and you lost your husband but despite it all. You we're never bitter. Your kindness shined. I love that you loved being a lolly pop lady. I'm glad I got to know someone so kind like yourself. Think deep down I avoided asking anyone about you because I wanted to stay in denial. R.I.P xxxx lots of love from Momoko and Mary

Happy memories of our childhood in Carlin How with Shirley taking the play scheme and being the lollipop lady. A beautiful soul. Thankyou Shirley for all the lovely memories xx
