IAN JAMES HEWITTIan Hewitt was born in Chesterfield in 1976 and lived in Wingerworth until he was 11 years old. He then moved to Keyworth near Nottingham where he went to Crossdale and Southwolds schools. He was a quiet and thoughful boy who always held high ideals for how the world should be. He was in the scouts and supported Nottingham Forest.
Ian graduated from UEA with a degree in Chemistry in 1997 and went on to complete a MSc. He then moved to Karlsruhe, Germany where he completed a Phd in inorganic chemistry showing an aptitude for the specialist area in which he was working, gaining the respect of colleagues. He loved the life style in Germany but also experienced visits to other countries, including a period of 6 months in New Zealand.
Following his marriage to Yuhong in 2004 he took up a job in China in 2006 but experienced some problems and returned to Karlsruhe after 2 years. Whilst he had many friends and colleagues in Karlsruhe and appeared happy a number of problems seems to weigh heavy on his shoulders, eventually leading to a sad end.
Greatly missed by his father and mother and sister Lisa. We will always love you.
Rest in peace.

P.S. It seems probable that Ian suffered from a mild version of Aspergers syndrome. His father has scored for this in an online test. As such Ian would have been more susceptable to stress and depression. It appears that in the last year or so Ian developed a form of undiagnosed clinical depression.
