Over the years I have worked with three generations of the Ireland family. As an apprentice in the early 1960's I spent three months in the Fuze Section Electronics Lab where George Ireland was my apprentice master and have known Derek from about this time. My final few years at the Fort before retiring (for the second time) I shared an office with Darren
All the Irelands were a pleasure to know and work with and Derek will be sadly missed by all who Knew him.

I am honoured and blessed to have known and worked with Derek, he taught me alot and was a man of great knowledge and wisdom. He was also a very sociable man and had many stories under his belt, he will truly be missed.
