IVAN CAMERONRemembering Tory leader David Cameron's son Ivan who died in hospital on 25 February, 2009.A Conservative Party spokesman said: "It is with great sadness that David and Samantha Cameron must confirm the death of their six-year-old son Ivan."Ivan, who suffered from cerebral palsy and severe epilepsy, was taken ill overnight and died at St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, early this morning."Ivan was diagnosed with the condition shortly after he was born and needed round-the-clock care throughout his life.Describing his son in 2006, Mr Cameron said: "'He is a wonderful boy. He has got the most lovely eyes and he definitely interacts with us in the way he looks at you and the way he moves his head, but he often is in a lot of pain.'The Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, said: "I know that in an all too brief life, he brought joy to all those around him and I know also that for all the days of his life, he was surrounded by his family's love."Stafford Conservatives also sent their condolences to the Cameron family. Mr Cameron was the candidate in Stafford at the 1997 election.Jeremy Lefroy, Conservative prospective parliamentary candidate for Stafford and Penkridge, said: "I am deeply saddened to hear of Ivan’s death. My thoughts and prayers are with David and Samantha Cameron."Amyas Stafford Northcote, Chairman of Stafford Conservatives, said: "We all still hold David Cameron in great affection and we are shocked and upset at this news. We are sending our very best wishes to David and Samantha."
