JoyceJACKSONJoyce Maria Jackson (nee Houlton) of Ashton-under-Lyne passed away on Saturday 25 June 2022, aged 65. She was the mother of Hannah and Simon, and the partner of Barry McLow. Born in Ashton to the late Bernard and Kathleen (Wilde) Houlton, Joyce briefly lived in the Reading area before returning home to Ashton. Joyce lived by a philosophy of kindness to others, which she actively brought to her retail and sales roles for Creda, Powerhouse, Scottish Power retail, Poundland and later Boots. Her personal motto was: "You never know what someone's going through, you could be the only person they have spoken to today - a smile costs you nothing, but it could mean everything to them". Joyce's family strongly believe each of her big and small acts of kindness made the world a better place. In addition to her children and partner, Joyce is survived by four grandchildren - Sophie, Anthony, Aimee and Tessa. She is also survived by great-grandson Theo, sister Maureen and her found-family William Wadsworth, Jamie Brown, Graham McLow, Gary McLow and partner, Lisa, and their son Samuel. All family, friends and close acquaintances are invited to celebrate Joyce's life at Oldham Crematorium on 11th July at 1:30pm, followed by a wake at the Broadoak Hotel, Ashton-under-Lyne. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her memory to Barnardo's and Unicef, which were charities Joyce actively supported in life.
