I have the fondest memory of a lovely meal followed by dancing in a night club in Hull with Peter and Patricia and their daughter, my dear friend Judy, celebrating Judy’s graduation in 1993. Sending much love to Patricia and Judy at this time.

I will always remember Uncle Peter for the clever, energetic, and fun-loving uncle who, at the drop of a hat, would jump in the car and take us wonderful places on our visits to England.

Here he is at Mum and Dad’s wedding in 1952 in his smart uniform.

Special condolences to Aunty Pat and Cousin Judith who cared for him so well in recent years.

I first met Peter in 1956 at a planning /social meeting before the wedding of my brother John to Pat’s sister June. At that time Peter was Pat’s boy friend or fiancé. As a teenager I was most impressed and overawed by this James Bond type of man who had served in the Royal Military Police as a dog handler, who drove fast cars and knew all about these new boxes of electronics called computers.

Happily the weddings went ahead - first June to my brother John and then Pat to Peter. Although June and John emigrated to Canada, they kept closely in touch with Pat and Peter and frequently enjoyed holidays together in North America and Europe.
In fact despite the distance, Peter and John became close friends. They had similar tastes, interests, opinions - and sense of humour. They got on very well with each other.
In fact it would be very hard not to get on well with Peter. He was a lovely man with a cheerful welcoming smile and a bright inspiring personality.

Sadly in his last years Peter’s mind lost its keen abilities and it is a tribute to Pat and daughter Judith that he was lovingly cared for, first at home and finally in a safe and comfortable care home.

However we will remember Peter not in his final condition but rather as the man with the warm and generous heart, a bright smile, chatting easily whilst fingering the keys of his fast BMW.
