MarieJARRETTIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marie Jarrett on April 25. Marie died peacefully at Royal Blackburn Hospital. She leaves behind her beloved husband Bernard, her two sons Craig and Adam, her daughter Tracy, son in law Darrell, daughter in law Suzanne, her grandchildren Aimee, Ethan, Oliver and Mia and sister Jean. Born in 1945 to Albert and Elsie Demain, Marie was also the sister of the deceased Bob and Edna. She attended Paddock house grammar school where she was a keen netball player. Marie went on to be a prominent figure within the community and owned the newsagents on Plantation Street. She went on to work in and run various newsagents around Accrington. She was an active member of the Roman Catholic Church and attended weekly mass at St Anne’s Church. Marie loved her family and enjoyed spending time seeing her children and grandchildren. A requiem mass to celebrate Marie’s life will take place at St Anne’s Church on Thursday, May 16 at 10.15am followed by a short service at Accrington Crematorium at 11.40am.
