I watched throughout the day, on Saturday 15th April at Beverley Market, as the family Jefferson stall was filled up with tributes and accolades to the inimitable Ian ‘Jaffa’ Jefferson. Just like Ian and his family filled the stall up religiously every Saturday from 3 a.m.onwards, with the best Ian could find for the people of Beverley and beyond. We will all miss the laughs. the jokes and banter, but most of all, the smile and the consideration for others that was a natural virtue of Ian’s character. Beverley market will never be the same again without our friend and market colleague Ian and his family, he was such a gem of a man. Let‘s hope he will watch over his family and the market traders he knew from above each Saturday, with the same care and compassion he always showed to all. Rest peacefully Ian, saying goodbye to you today, no one who ever knew you will ever forget you.
