So pleased I was able to attend the funeral of my old mate, the years apart never broke the bond we formed. Graham was my Dads apprentice at CD Holmes. When we first met in the Police it instantly gave us some common ground, I also went to Wilberforce although he was a bit older and had left by the time I started. We both had a love for rugby league and union and although I was not brilliant he encouraged me to play again both for the force team and Hessle. He was a tough copper and did not suffer fools gladly, his standards were high which reflected in his dedication and work rate. As you might gather I cherish that period in my life working with Graham, playing rugby and catching the bad guys. I will miss him but will for the rest of my life look back on those times with great affection, he will always be in my thoughts. RIP me old mate x Sylvo.
