Very sad to hear of the death of such a Leeds Legend. I remember some of his many appearances for Leeds RL as I was a regular for many many years in the South Stand. What a great player John was and always a supporters favourite. Thanks for the memories John.

John Holmes will live in my heart forever.I have very fond memories & was priviledged to say i not only knew him but actually was his girl friend for a while. We went to the same school. He spent some good times at my parents house & my mum always made him his favourite sandwiches of corned beef.I was very saddened to hear he lost his fight against cancer & my heart felt sympathy goes out to all his family. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him he will live in our hearts forever.R.I.P my darling.x

I spent most of my school years in the same class as John, I bumped in to him years after I left school , I was shocked he remembered me but really pleased he did , fame in those days wasn't like today, it didn't change him at all ,I feel priveleged to have known him !
