Only just heard the tragic news. Mr T has been my inspriration through my life. He believed in me, he encouraged me to be the best that I could. I remember him taking a school bus full of kids to do the three peak challenge in his native Yorkshire, with his own wife and three daughters. I looked upto Mr T like no other man, a real mans man with a stubborn never say die attitude, but at the same time, a man with a heart of gold. You will live forever in everybodys heart Mr T. I for one will never forget you. RIP my hero.

Mr. Thompson (Tommo) was a true inspiration to all that he met. He taught me so much more than rugby. His influence has affected my whole life.
A truly great man.
RIP John.

Probably the most genuine, kind-hearted and compassionate person I've ever met - I think the turnout at John's funeral showed how many lives he touched, and the high regard he was held in. For sure, he would have been proud of his family that day - the readings by his daughters moved many, myself included, to tears. RIP Tommo.
