DerekJOHNSONof Castle Gresley Released from suffering, after a long illness bravely fought. Derek passed away peacefully at home, with his family by his side on 30th June 2021, aged 86 years. Beloved husband of the late Iris. Cherished 'Daddy Lion' to Lorraine, Deborah and Mandy, a treasured grandfather, great-grandfather and a great friend to many. Due to current restrictions a private funeral service will be held for Derek on 12th July. If you wish to attend please contact the family to check if there is space available in Church. The service will be live streamed for those unable to attend. Family flowers only. So sorry to hear this news. We have fond memories of Mr Johnson playing the piano for Joan Ross. I can hear the girls chorus . “Thank you Mr Johnson” as they curtsied at the end of their dance. He was always seemed happy and with a smile on his face.
