It’s been 30 years since Mr. Jones taught me A-Level Mathematics at Merton College and and he remains my most favourite teacher of all times and the only one I remember deeply. He was a teacher who truly cared and has always stood way above the rest for me. He was always jolly and happy and didn’t mind going over the work with me countless times until I understood it. His personality was always warm and cheery. He made learning Mathematics much more fun. I have been trying to get it touch with him for years to no avail and when I tried to again today, this was not the way I would have ever wanted. My deepest condolences to his family. Mr. Jones was a good egg. I have missed him and will continue to.

My dear uncle Selwyn. I loved to spend time in his company. He was a joy to talk to - curious about everything, interested in everyone, a careful listener, and a wonderful, humorous storyteller. As the young brother of Betty and of Eirlys (my mother) Selwyn had family stories, memories of growing up in 1940s and 50s Carmarthenshire, that were like treasure to me.

To lose Selwyn is so sad, but I know that the reason I'll miss him so much is that I was very lucky to have him in my family in the first place. Rest in peace, Sel.

Selwyn was my much beloved great uncle and I only wish that I had spent more time with him listening to his stories! Everyone loved Selwyn - his laugh, his twinkling eyes, and his stories. Rest in peace.
