As landlord of The Smiths Arms in Hafod, Brian ran a fantastic pub that was at the heart of the community. He was a true landlord in every sense of the word – fair, respected, welcoming, and someone who took great pride in the standards he set.
Brian believed in doing things the right way. He had a strict set of principles and a zero-tolerance approach to bad behaviour, foul language, and disrespect, especially in front of women. Those values left a lasting impression on many of us and remain with me to this day.
The Smiths Arms was more than just a pub under Brian's watch; it was a place where friendships were made, stories were shared, and good times were had. Whether you were a regular or just passing through, Brian made sure everyone knew where they stood, and because of that, he earned the respect of all who knew him.
He will be remembered not only for the pub he ran but for the character he showed, the standards he upheld, and the countless memories he helped create.
Last orders now, Brian.
Thank you for the good times, the lessons, the laughs, and the memories.
You'll never be forgotten. Cheers, Brian. 🍻

So sorry to hear this awful news, Brian was a lovely man and spent many hours with the family over the years, USA, Cardiff for the rugby, Ascot for the Racing. He will be missed by all his friends. My thoughts are with Cridwen and all the family
