John PatrickJORDANof Carlisle Road, Accrington passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Royal Blackburn Hospital on February 22, aged 77 years. He was the beloved husband of Carol, much loved father of Allison and Lorraine and proud and treasured grandad of Rebekah, Hollie, Sophie and Benjamin. John was also the older brother to the late James. He also leaves sister-inlaw Kathleen, nieces and nephews and was a good friend to many. John was born in Ballina, Republic of Ireland and came to Accrington aged three years with his late parents James and Hannah. He attended St Anne’s and Holy Family schools and went on to become a plumbing and heating engineer and had a business in the town for many years. John enjoyed his holidays, travelling widely with Italy and Goa being his favourites. He also liked nothing better than to potter in his beloved garden. A service will be held at Accrington Crematorium on Tuesday, March 7 at 12.20pm. Special thanks to all the staff at the Royal Blackburn Hospital who helped care for John. Family flowers only please, donations in memory of John can be made to Cancer Research UK c/o Hyndburn Funeral Services, Queens Road, Accrington. John requested that those attending his funeral should wear a splash of colour.
