JOSEPH LAPPINRemembering 16-year-old Joseph Lappin who was stabbed to death in Liverpool on the night of 20 October, 2008.
Joseph, who was known as Joe, was attacked outside the Shrewsbury House Youth Club in Everton.
The Army cadet came from the Old Swan area of Liverpool. A friend with him was also stabbed. They were thought to have been waiting for a lift home when they were attacked.
They had attended the Monday Night Music Club, a popular event among children from all over Liverpool who are learning to play musical instruments.
Joe was a member of V Liverpool Scottish Detachment of Merseyside Army Cadet Force. He had been based at the detachment in Kensington, Liverpool, since December 2006.
Major Tony Kirkpatrick, cadet executive officer of Merseyside Army Cadet Force, said: "He was just an everyday cracking lad who wanted to be a part of everything. Joey would put his heart and soul into everything he did. We will all miss him tremendously."
Joe's mother Toni paid tribute to her son, saying: "Joseph was a lovely lad, our son and the centre of our family."
She said he had been an army cadet for three years and had planned to join the army.
