So sad to hear the news of Robert’s passing. I was a student of his at Victoria College, Jersey and I can say that Robert was one of those wonderful teachers that one rarely hears about. I still remember my first art lesson with him, aged 11 - he drew a circle in chalk on the black board and, as if by magic, he added some shading and turned the circle into a ball. Then he added a shadow and the ball sat down on the table. I remember thinking, like it was yesterday, ‘I want to do that!’ He took such an interest - he even came to the interview with me for my first job as an apprentice Commercial Artist.
Rest In Peace dear Robert Julier, you gave me my life, my career, my passion and my love. Thank you. X
David Henley
