HughKANE(Mid Calder) With great sadness the family of Hugh announce that he died peacefully on July 11th 2021, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife Roma, daughter Sandra, son David and grandchildren Kane and Maya. Hugh began his career as an apprentice with the National Coal Board at fifteen, eventually becoming Engineering Manager then Plant Manager at British Leyland in Bathgate, before starting his own engineering company - Scottish Bearings. Hugh was widely read, a life-long movie buff, and was involved with his local Labour Party to the end of his life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
